18 years ago today - Paula Radcliffe demolished the Marathon World Record running 2:15:25 (3:12/km, 5:09/mi). She broke her own World Record by almost 2 minutes and at the time no other female had come within 3 minutes of her over the Marathon. Her world record then stood for 16 years.
