Arte Johnson's first job in show business was in 1954 in the Broadway cast of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. His 1st TV apearance was the CBS sitcom It's Always Jan, then NBC's Sally, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. He was in The Twilight Zone and McHale's Navy in 1961. In '62 it was The Andy Griffith Show, The Jack Benny Program, and work with Flip Wilson.
