Truthfully, I saw this image and made an assumption that his midfoot was likely going to be stiff and that I might see stiffness in other areas like his ankle or his toe extension. Here's the problem with a misdiagnosis... it misleads treatment! This patient was told that she had Hallux Rigidus and would have to use a morton's extension (carbon fiber plate to keep her from bending her big toe joint) and stiff shoes for the rest of her life. They said "this is just how it's going to be" 😡 SHE HAD 80 DEGREES OF MOTION!! We need to do better. 💯 Needless to say we're taking a different route. I'm going to do a follow up post talking about footwear tomorrow but you better bet
