Fijian is a beautiful language, but it can be tricky for foreigners to pronounce! 🇫🇯 Here are 3 words you might be saying wrong (and how to get them right): 👉 Vinaka (thank you) – Vee-nah-kah (not vah-nah-kah) or simply "vina’a" 👉 Kere kere (please) – This word for a humble request is sometimes mispronounced as kiri-kiri. 👉 The letter Q – This always makes an “ng” sound (like in mango) so waqa is pronounced "wanga", sega is "senga", and so on.
