Remembering the great Don Gibson April 3, 1928 – November 17, 2003. The prolific songwriter (with the nickname "the sad poet") charted 82 songs during his career. Three hit #1 - “Oh Lonesome Me,” “Blue Blue Day” and “Woman (Sensuous Woman).” He may be best known for writing the classic "I Can't Stop Loving You" (the B-side of his "Oh, Lonesome Me"). Ray Charles' recording of the song hit #1 on Billboard's pop singles chart. It's been recorded by at least 700 artists since then. | GatorRock
