regarding this PNC Bank issue, I tried on my own today, and I was able to connect my four PNC accounts with "PNC Bank - Direct Connect". I was able to authorize successfully on the web, at last! Perhaps this means they actually have resolved the issue, since I didn't run into any errors, and my PNC balances are correct.

This PNC Bank - Web Connect setup was originally to be used only with the WC connection method (manually downloading and importing transactions from the online account in QFX formated files….also commonly referred to as "Quicken" and "Web Connect" files).

PNC Bank - Web Connect: This is the one that pops up to the top when typing in "PNC" in the Add Account search field. This is very unfortunate because while EWC+ connections can be set up with this it has proven to be very unreliable and problematic.

I have two PNC checking accounts. One is Direct Connect and the other is Web Connect. The Direct works better and faster than Web on my slow satellite connection. I don't see an option to change the Web connect to Direct connect. Is there a way?

As another user reported in the link I posted above, they were told this by Quicken Support: "We have an alert because PNC bank is making some changes on their servers and they are blocking Quicken in the process. This situation was already escalated and we are currently working with PNC Bank to resolve this problem, so please give us some time.

With PNC selecting the correct Add Account connection option is critical. For instance, if one is trying to connect: Virtual Wallet (checking, savings) accounts, make sure to use the PNC - Virtual Wallet connection option. Yes, DC with PNC has not working since the 10/12 BBVA merger date. Until PNC gets it fixed others (including myself) are setting up PNC with Express Web Connect (EWC) with the PNC - Virtual Wallet Add Account or Set Up Now setup link. Once PNC fixes DC we can upgrade the connection to it.

And Bank Bill Pay is 100% free for as many bills as you want to pay each month (unless you have a business account for which I think the monthly fee charged by PNC is $2.50) whereas Quicken Bill Manager does have a monthly quantity limit.

Mar 30, 2024 · I went to an older Quicken backup and PNC bank connection worked fine. The reason I decided to re-establish the connection to the PNC bank was due to the balance . I am not able to re-establish the connection from quicken to PNC Bank after updating. Quicken really needs to work with PNC to resolve this issue.vThis all started on April 2nd for me.
