Ten key components form the Waverley Station Concept Masterplan, each one is focussed on putting the needs of passengers and station users first. The sketch below shows platform level with views to New Town mezzanine above and Princes Street beyond.

Led in partnership by Network Rail, Transport Scotland and City of Edinburgh Council, The Waverley Masterplan Concept will form a framework for the evolution of the station, supporting Edinburgh’s civic improvement and economic growth.

Waverley Station is a key transport interchange serving Edinburgh and Scotland. Passenger numbers are estimated to more than double over the next 30 years. Network Rail, City of Edinburgh Council, Transport Scotland and our partners want to plan for this growth with a Masterplan that considers what changes are needed over the next 30 years.
