During Sunday's TSN broadcast between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators, announcer Gord Miller pointed out that Sidney Crosby, who ranks 10th all-time in assists, has set up a player's first NHL goal on 14 occasions.

Crosby has won three Stanley Cups in Pittsburgh, but it's hard to envision a fourth title coming at the end of this season with the Penguins (30–34–11) clearly outside of playoff contention, six points outside the wild-card places with two more games played.

Among current NHL players, Crosby currently holds the ninth position in total points with 1,676. His goal against Buffalo was his 26th of the season and marked the 618th for his career. This consistency is a testament to his enduring talent and dedication to the game.
