Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was charged with trespassing, and Rep. LaMonica McIver was charged with assault. The overtly political charges destroyed office morale, the New York Times reports.
McIver was joined during the May incident by New Jersey Democratic Reps. Coleman and Rob Menendez Jr., as well as Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who was arrested during the scuffle.
