The Oklahoma Board of Pardons and Parole denied clemency in the case of John Hanson May 7, leaving him to face execution in June.

An Oklahoma board has denied clemency for a man convicted of killing a Tulsa woman in 1999. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board's 3-2 vote on Wednesday clears the way for John Fitzgerald Hanson to be executed by lethal injection on June 12.

Clemency was denied for Oklahoma death row inmate John Fitzgerald Hanson, also known as George John Hanson, who was convicted of the 1999 murder of 77-year-old Mary Bowles.
