New Jersey's lawsuit claims Discord has been deceiving young users and parents about safety features intended to block harmful content.

State officials have sued Discord, a popular messaging app, alleging it leaves children vulnerable to online predators. A suit filed by the office of State Attorney General Matt Platkin alleges Discord misled users about it safety features, particularly its direct messaging function.

The platform has failed to protect underage users from sexual predators, harassment and violent content, Matt Platkin says.
