A deadly listeria outbreak linked to frozen supplement shakes has spread across 21 states, leaving 12 dead and 38 hospitalized, prompting an FDA investigation and nationwide recall.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Supplemental shakes that might have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes have been recalled. Lyons Magnus recalled the 4-ounce cartons of Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial frozen shakes after the products’ manufacturer, Prairie Farms Dairy Inc., recalled them from its Fort Wayne, Indiana, facility.
