Marius Borg Høiby, 27, Mette-Marit's son from before her marriage to Crown Prince Haakon, was arrested in August 2024 after authorities alleged he "attacked" a 20-year-old woman "psychologically and physically," according to a report from Norwegian outlet Se og Hør.

Per People Magazine, Marius Borg Høiby, 28, was arrested in August last year on charges relating to the alleged physical and psychological abuse of a 20-year-old woman. He has since been charged with 32 crimes by the state prosecutor of Norway, including one count of rape with intercourse and three counts of rape without intercourse.

Prince Haakon spoke on his stepson’s arrest last November, stating, “Marius is facing serious accusations, which the police and the judiciary will deal with. I am convinced they will do a good job.”
