The Winnipeg Jets goalie, who won the Vezina Trophy voted as the best at his position in the NHL the past two seasons, is the favorite to win it again this season, according to NHL.com. Hellebuyck received seven first-place votes and 61 voting points from a 15-person panel.

After winning the Vezina Trophy the last two seasons, the Winnipeg Jets goalie enters the season as the favourite to win his third straight this season, something no goalie has done since Dominik Hasek from 1996 to 1999. Since the NHL adopted the current criteria for the Vezina Trophy in 1981–82, Hasek is the only goalie to win three straight.

The Chicago Blackhawks need this X factor to succeed to return to the wild card race, and it is not Connor Bedard.
