An 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Russia triggered tsunami warnings across the Pacific. Here's the latest travel guidance.

After a massive earthquake struck Russia, tsunami alerts were issued for many areas, including Japan, Hawaii and California, the latter of which is nearly 5,000 miles away.

An NOAA map (below) shows the red zone stretch about 130 miles from its southernmost point at Cape Mendocino near Fortuna, California, to near Bandon, Oregon. The area reached as far as 15 miles inland at its deepest point at Cape Mendocino, which is located about 200 miles north of San Francisco.
