A federal judge in Waco has rejected an attempt by an attorney for the man found incompetent to stand trial in a 2022 mass shooting in McGregor to transfer the case to federal court.

Rep. Cassandra Garcia Hernandez, who was elected in November to represent District 115 in the Texas House, was born in Hereford and for most of her life has lived in Texas.
