While there’s much to say about the Utah State Aggies’ 33-0 shutout loss to the Utah Utes on Saturday, Aggies linebacker Harrison Taggart was the main worry on head coach Bronco Mendenhall’s mind postgame.

The Utah State Aggies and the Utah Utes meet Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.

The 15th ranked Utah Utes travel to Ames, Iowa, to take on the Iowa State Cyclones to open Big 12 play. It marks the first meeting between the two teams at Jack Trice Stadium since Oct. 9, 2010, and their first matchup overall since Nov. 23, 2024, when the Cyclones defeated the Utes 31-28 at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Iowa State’s defense will be the toughest that Utah has faced this season, and making matters worse is the rainy forecast for Saturday’s 1:30 p.m. MDT contest on Jack Trice Stadium’s grass field. While the Utes are no strangers to playing in the rain (see last year’s Arizona State game), will the rain change things at all?
