Russian forces launched an attack on Ukrainian cities on the night of 11-12 August using 48 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones, as well as four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.

Thus far in August, the intensity of Russian strikes on Ukraine appear to have eased. The first 11 days of this month have seen Moscow launch a daily average of 74 drones and one missile into Ukraine, compared with record-breaking July figures of 201 drones and around six missiles per day.

Russia and Ukraine reported overnight air engagements on Tuesday, with both sides claiming to have intercepted dozens of drones in separate attacks.
