A Vermont judge ordered the government to release Tufts University graduate student Rumeysa Ozturk Friday while her case proceeds, making her at least the second student freed from custody under the Trump administration.

A federal judge ordered the government to release a Tufts University graduate student who was grabbed off the street in late March and detained for co-writing an opinion piece in a student newspaper criticizing the war in Gaza.

Ozturk is free to return to her home in Massachusetts ... because, frankly, I don’t find that she poses any risk of flight,” the judge ruled.
