Jannik Sinner replaces Carlos Alcaraz at No. 1 with the year-ending top spot still uncertain
Alcaraz needs to win three matches at the finals to finish 2025 atop the rankings for the second time in his career. Alcaraz became the youngest player to finish a year at No. 1 when he achieved the feat as a 19-year-old in 2022.
Aliassime‘s campaign at the Paris Masters ended in disappointment, he was still positive about his performance in the final against Jannik Sinner.
Even if Sinner wins the ATP Finals undefeated, Alcaraz can keep the World No 1 spot by taking at least 500 ranking points from the tournament. This could be done by winning all three round-robin matches, or by winning at least one of his round-robin matches and also winning his semi-final.
For the first time, Sinner confirmed that Hasanovic is his girlfriend, saying after his victory against Alexander Zverev, “Thank you very much for your support. The work you put in, the effort. Even understanding me is not always easy, but thank you for your commitment. My family, my girlfriend, my friends and even those who follow us from home.”
