Officials responded to the fire in the park near the intersection of E. Jewell Avenue and S. Potomac Street around 3:13 p.m.

Another concern as we go into the weekend will be fire danger on the eastern plains. There's a Fire Weather Watch for Saturday, when winds will kick up ahead of an afternoon cold front.
