A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for southeast Cook and Central Will counties in Illinois. The National Weather Service said Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that the thunderstorms moving through the area were dropping rain at rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour.

A flash flood warning was allowed to expire in the Chicago area, but not before heavy rain and gusty storms pushed through the area.

Monday, mostly cloudy skies may restrict daily highs to the mid 80s with the best chance for rain late afternoon into the evening. Storms are expected to be non-severe, but the slow moving nature of these storms may be an issue with regards to flooding especially for cities northwest of I-55.
