A union that represents some Montreal Amazon workers said it will petition a court to compel the company to reopen the warehouses and reverse the job cuts.

The online retail giant said the move was not linked to recent unionization efforts by workers in the Canadian province.

The CSN union is taking Amazon to court and urging a Canada-wide boycott of its products and services after the online retail giant announced it would be shuttering all seven of its warehouses in Quebec and laying off all its employees working there.
