MOOSUP - Moosup United Methodist Church was struck by lightning during a "severe overnight storm" this week, a spokesperson said. The lightning strike occurred around 1 a.m. Thursday, according to a statement from Benjamin Musasizi, director of communications for the United Methodist Church New England Annual Conference.
The 13000 block of I-10 is closed going in both directions, according to a BCSO social media post. CPS Energy is currently on the scene. Repairs are expected to take an hour. BCSO is advising avoiding the area and using alternative routes.
