Walnut Creek has hired a contractor for phase one of building a new aquatic center and community center at Heather Farm Park.

The pool house is expected to be completed next summer and is part of a $500 million project that was originally proposed in 2017, with construction beginning in 2022.

Design includes kids pool, 6 lap lanes and a diving pool. The City of Iowa City sought design input from the general public through a survey and several public meetings.
