A LinkedIn post purportedly written by the loveable red Muppet — in which Elmo says he “was recently laid off because of the federal budget cuts” — has gone viral on social media.
“Hi LinkedIn, Unfortunately Elmo was recently laid off because of the federal budget cuts,” the post reads. “Elmo worked at Sesame Street for 45 years. Elmo is sad.
I couldn't find the original post, but there is an Elmo Sesame Street LinkedIn profile for what it's worth. The post also urges people reach out to congress to help save public broadcasting.
Apparently, the latest round of federal budget cuts have reached Sesame Street. On Thursday, a LinkedIn post from the account someone made for Elmo from Sesame Street began going viral.
