Former Atlanta Braves reliever AJ Minter has love for the franchise, but he proved Alex Anthopoulos right by signing with the Mets.

The Atlanta Braves finally made a noteworthy deal on Thursday with the signing of outfielder Jurickson Profar. The contract answered the outfield question, but there are still a few holes in the lineup up for grabs.

The Braves have been quiet this offseason, but earlier this week, Alex Anthopoulos woke up and made his first move of the winter, signing Jurickson Profar to a three-year, $42 million deal.

Profar, a switch-hitter, began lifting his front leg higher at the start of his swing. He said advice from former major leaguer Fernando Tatis and work with San Diego outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. last offseason helped convince him to make the change, which added power to his swing.

Profar set career highs in batting average, home runs and RBIs as well as with 158 hits. He was the starting left fielder for the NL in the All-Star Game and earned his first Silver Slugger Award.

Jurickson Profar agreed to a $42 million, three-year contract with the Atlanta Braves, less than a year after the outfielder got a $1 million deal from the San Diego Padres with spring training already underway.

A new leg kick helped make Jurickson Profar a first-time MLB All-Star at 31 with the San Diego Padres in 2024.

The Braves also signed Bryan De La Cruz to a one-year deal on Dec. 16 to add outfield depth, but the team otherwise had a quiet offseason before the addition of Profar. A switch-hitter, he will join Michael Harris, Jarred Kelenic, Eli White and De La Cruz as Atlanta's top outfielders.
