The Trump administration has decided to drop its prolonged court fights against four law firms with ties to Democrats, after it had sought and failed to cut out the firms’ access to the federal government as part of an apparent retribution campaign by President Donald Trump.
A recent poll by The Associated Press-NORC indicated that only around 7 out of 10 Democrats hold a favorable view of their political party.
Trump has continued to express frustration in recent weeks that the Republican Party could lose seats, given the historical trend that the party in power typically underperforms in the midterms. He has also warned that he’ll face impeachment if the GOP comes up empty-handed.
