The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-3 in an NHL Western Conference clash at Ball Arena in Denver on Thursday (Jan. 16) night. Viktor Arvidsson, Evan Bouchard, Brett Kulak and Connor McDavid scored for the Oilers.

Kulak scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche.

The Oilers have won at least 7 games in 7 of Knoblauch’s 11 full segments to date, and recorded a .700 points percentage in an eighth (6-2-2). Two others were .600 or better. Just the opening set of the current campaign featured subpar results, an 0-3-0 start followed by a 4-2-1 recovery.

Brett Kulak skating with Ty Emberson is another familiar duo for Oilers fans. These two have been a rock-solid third-pairing for the team. But, as previously stated, Nurse and Stecher are often broken up during a game. When that happens, Kulak slides up to Nurse's pairing while Stecher plays with Emberson.

Not exactly a masterpiece at Rogers Place on Monday night, but the Edmonton Oilers ’ mastery of the Seattle Kraken continued with an eighth consecutive victory for the blue and orange. As was the case in Seattle at the beginning of the month, the Oilers walked away with a 4-2 win, an emtpy-net goal sealing the deal in each instance.
