The warnings were lifted as of 7 a.m. August 9, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Evacuation orders in the county had been downgraded to warnings on Friday. Evacuation warnings in Ventura County have also been lifted, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. Containment of the fire was at 28%, according to Cal Fire.

Fire officials say the blaze is threatening power lines as well as the communities of Hasley Canyon and Hathaway Ranch.

The Canyon Fire is burning through steep terrain near the Ventura-Los Angeles county line, prompting evacuations and air quality warnings.
