The defending Super Bowl champions, Metchie not only joins his former Crimson Tide teammate on the Eagles, but also many other Alabama players in Philadelphia. That list also includes Jihaad Campbell, Landon Dickerson, Jalen Hurts, Cameron Latu, Eli Ricks, Tyler Steen, and Byron Young.
This is the second straight August that the Eagles swung a trade for a wide receiver. In 2024, the Eagles acquired Jahan Dotson to serve as the third wide receiver. They didn't give up nearly as much to get Metchie, sending tight end Harrison Bryant and a fifth-round pick for Metchie and a sixth-round pick.
