New Cavs swingman Javonte Green had one specific observation upon his arrival this weekend. “It’s cold,” Green said with a smile following Sunday’s shootaround, his first official on-court workout with his new team.

Javonte Green is joining the Cleveland Cavaliers after agreeing to a contract buyout with the New Orleans Pelicans and clearing waivers.

The Pelicans acquired a versatile player like Green right before the trade deadline when they received Bruce Brown as part of the Brandon Ingram deal. Brown will fill Green’s role. Brandon Boston also will get more minutes.
