NASCAR announced Wednesday that the sport will race in San Diego, Calif. in 2026 with a new street course race weekend at Naval Base Coronado. NASCAR's San Diego Weekend, set for June 19-21 of next year, will be the first NASCAR event on an active military base and feature the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series.

NASCAR will hold a street race on Naval Base Coronado in Southern California next June as a replacement for its downtown Chicago event that ran the past three years.

It’s expected that the 2026 NASCAR schedule will come this week. However, we have come to know of some changes ahead of time, from the addition of the San Diego street course to Homestead-Miami Speedway hosting championship weekend.

NASCAR fans have been given a brutal weather warning after the unveiling of the Cup Series schedule for 2026. Next year’s calendar is now officially in the books after the big reveal, with several major storylines emerging.

While taking a break from the Chicago Street Race in Grant Park next year, NASCAR will return to the Chicagoland Speedway in southwest suburban Joliet for the July 4th weekend.
