Technically, the New York City Marathon finish line each year closes at 10 p.m., and this year’s race saw a record-breaking 59,226 competitors log official times to make it the largest marathon ever. But the cutoff doesn’t mean the Big Apple party stops before the last person out on the course completes the full journey through the five boroughs.

The 2025 TCS NYC Marathon kicks off on Sunday, and several major roads and bridges will be closed as participants make their way from Staten Island to the Central Park finish line.
