Hepworth gifted the sculpture to St Ives in 1968 after she was awarded the Freedom of the Borough and she personally chose its position outside the Guildhall, St Ives Town Deal (SITD) said.

A Barbara Hepworth sculpture is moved from St Ives Guildhall to Redruth during building works. A UK gallery or institution will have until February to try to purchase the £3.5m sculpture.
