Apex Legends is free to play on console and PC. A mobile version of the game, Apex Legends Mobile, is available for download on Android and iOS devices.

We spoke with Respawn Entertainment to learn more about Apex Legends Mobile's upcoming third season--and to finally uncover the reason Apex Packs have a different name in the mobile game.

"We're making mobile games available on PC by default," said Aurash Mahbod, the vice president and general manager of games on Google Play, in an Android Developer video.

Apex Legends Mobile, a free battle royale hero shooter, is now available for download on Android and iOS. The app is free to download, but players may encounter in-app purchases.
