Fireworks stored in a Northern California warehouse blew up in a massive explosion that ignited a wildfire Tuesday in a pre-Fourth of July show, briefly triggering evacuations for nearby residents.

ESPARTO, Calif. (AP) — An explosion at a fireworks warehouse in northern California caused several fires, sending black smoke into the air and forcing evacuations, authorities said. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Seven people were missing after a fire and powerful explosion leveled a commercial fireworks facility in rural northern California, authorities said on Wednesday.
