Wall Street's main indexes were mixed on Thursday with S&P 500 edging up to a closing high, while Dow Jones and Nasdaq were flat, after a hotter-than-expected producer prices report dampened expectations of potential interest-rate cuts.

The Fed has been hesitant to cut interest rates because of the possibility that Trump's tariffs could worsen inflation.

Wall Street was on track to open higher, adding to the record highs hit a day earlier when better-than-expected U.S. inflation data raised hopes that the Federal Reserve will cut
