Texas got its honors this week. But it fed its hunger as well. Texas’ Vic Schaefer was honored as the SEC Coach of the Year by his peers Tuesday, but he took some issue with the fact newly crowned SEC Player of the Year sophomore guard Madison Booker was the only Longhorn off the co-champion team named to the women's basketball all-conference team.

On paper, everything that Schaefer said is correct. Ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press and USA TODAY Sports Coaches polls, Texas (27-2, 13-1) is playing Mississippi State (19-9, 6-8) in the midst of a tight race with South Carolina for the SEC championship.
