The Trump administration announced an expansive review of some of the Smithsonian’s museums in an effort to ensure “alignment” with the president’s view of history.

The White House said it wants to ensure the museums show the "unity, progress and enduring values that define the American story."

Three top White House officials said in a letter to Smithsonian Institution Secretary Lonnie Bunch that the review aims to ensure the institution highlights "historically accurate" and "inclusive portrayals" of the country's heritage.
