Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte criticized the on-field celebrations after Texas beat Tennessee 20-17 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. The remarks came after defensive end Colin Simmons drew an unsportsmanlike conduct flag and running back Raleek Brown drew criticism for an end-zone celebration. Del Conte called the antics "embarrassing" to the football team, athletics program and university, and said he was not happy about it. He said the players made "some major issues to address" and that the celebrations raised "very warranted concerns" from fans. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian met with Simmons and Brown and said the matter is being handled internally. Del Conte said the players are "good people who made poor choices" and that the team must represent The University of Texas with class, dignity and respect at all times.
