The Las Vegas Raiders are shaking up their coaching staff midseason: The team announced Friday that they have fired special teams coordinator Tom McMahon, one day after an ugly loss to the Denver Broncos on "Thursday Night Football."
The Las Vegas Raiders have lost three games in a row following Thursday's ugly 10-7 defeat to the Denver Broncos, and head coach Pete Carroll is making a change.
Raiders coach Pete Carroll and McMahon had words on the sidelines in the midst of a frustrating Raiders loss that saw the team commit 11 penalties—including one that negated a would-be touchdown—miss a field goal, have a punt blocked and fail to string together consistent drives on offense en route to scoring just seven points.
Denver (7-2) also owns one of the NFL's best defenses, headlined by pass rushing aces Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper. Bonitto has eight sacks this season, and Cooper has seven. Overall, the Broncos are allowing the third-fewest yards per game this season.
The Broncos and the Raiders etched themselves in the record books on Thursday, but not for reasons either team is happy about.
Denver Broncos running back JK Dobbins suffered a foot injury on what appeared to be an illegal hip-drop tackle in Thursday's victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Friday. Dobbins is currently awaiting a second opinion on the injury, which the team has yet to confirm.
The Denver Broncos defeated the Las Vegas 10-7 on Thursday night in what was an embarrassing offensive performance from both teams.
Denver Broncos defensive lineman Dondrea Tillman had his second interception of the season, this time against the Las Vegas Raiders, in a 10-7 victory on Thursday. After gathering in the ball, Tillman followed a convoy of blockers, including linebacker Alex Singleton, inside the Raider 35.
