Video game giant Nintendo opened its newest flagship store Thursday in San Francisco's Union Square, as the area seeks to recover from multiple store closings.

Set at the intersection of Geary and Powell in San Francisco's Union Square neighborhood, the first thing you notice is the parade of Nintendo characters lining the store's windows, with Mario leading the congregation to the main doors. Upon entering the store, you're greeted by the clean, white aesthetic that the Nintendo brand is known for.

1. TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The Nintendo Store San Francisco is located at 331 Powell St. in Union Square. Being in the middle of the city, parking is a nightmare, so it’s best to take public transportation. Visitors can easily reach the shop from the Powell Street BART Station.
