The Cincinnati Bengals shook up the running back room Wednesday but cutting last year's Week 1 starter Zack Moss. Moss, who signed with Cincy in free agency ahead of his fifth NFL season, played just eight games (six starts) before eventually having his job taken by explosive second-year ball-carrier Chase Brown.

The Cincinnati Bengals on July 30 announced halfback Zack Moss was released. A sixth-year veteran and a Bengals players since the 2024 offseason, Moss played in eight games in 2024-25, starting six times. He had 74 rushing attempts for 242 yards, and 23 receptions for 187 yards. He scored three touchdowns (two rushing).

In 2024, Moss signed a two-year deal with the Bengals worth $8 million. After last season, Moss and Cincinnati agreed to a restructured deal worth $1.7 million in 2025. Wednesday's release will cost the Bengals $1.88 million in dead money against the salary cap and net Cincinnati $1.2 million in cap savings.
