With less than a month left in the WNBA regular season, the Minnesota Lynx have a firm lock on the top seed in the playoffs.

Minnesota Lynx star and WNBA MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier has been upgraded to questionable for the team's game against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday. Collier has not played since Aug. 2 due to a sprained right ankle and had an initial recovery timeline of at least two weeks.

Thus ends the series of Finals rematches between the Liberty and Lynx, who played to a five-game thriller last fall in what became New York's first postseason championship run. None of the four games featured Liberty star Breanna Stewart while her fellow UConn alum and Unrivaled co-founder Napheesa Collier missed the latter three.

The Lynx's decision on Collier was revealed as they announced the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup.

Since becoming controlling owners of the Timberwolves and Lynx in late June, Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez have been evaluating the business side of the franchises. This week, that evaluation resulted in layoffs of what a source said were roughly 35 employees as part of Lore and Rodriguez’s restructuring of the franchises.
