US President Trump claims India agreed to drop import tariffs on American goods, negotiations ongoing for bilateral trade agreement.

India and the UK agreed to a landmark trade deal slashing tariffs on cosmetics, vehicles, alcoholic beverages and other goods, as both sides look for wins to offset the disruption of President Donald Trump’s protectionist policies.

The two countries signed a deal three years after negotiations began to strengthen alliances in what the British prime minister called a “new era” of trade.
