The 2026 IIHF World Hockey Championship knockout stage began Thursday with the remaining eight teams in the tournament playing their quarterfinal games.

Finland came back from a goal down to win 4-2 over top seeds Canada and book their spot in the final, where they will face host nation Switzerland.
