Apple is said to be preparing to power the next version of its Siri voice assistant with Google's Gemini. Bloomberg reports that the deal will see Apple pay Google approximately $1 billion annually for access to the model. Apple currently powers Siri with ChatGPT through a partnership with OpenAI, which doesn't incur any costs for Apple.

The iPhone maker is banking on Google’s help to rebuild Siri’s underlying technology, setting the stage for a new slate of features next year.
