The sales tax rate in Franklin County will rise 0.5% starting on April 1. For most areas, including Columbus, that will put the sales tax at 8%. The change, which was approved by voters in November, will provide the funding to begin the LinkUS transportation modernization and improvement projects.

A sales tax increase in Franklin County went into effect on Tuesday after voters passed Issue 47 in November to help fund new transportation projects.

The Ohio Department of Taxation says starting on April 1, sales tax in Franklin County and parts of nearby areas will see a 0.5% increase. For most areas, including Columbus, that will put the sales tax at 8%. Delaware County (COTA District): 7.5% increases to 8.0%
