Voters head to polls Tuesday in America’s first major election day since President Donald Trump returned to the White House.

New York City’s mayoral election is underway today as Democrat Zohran Mamdani, Independent Andrew Cuomo, and Republican Curtis Sliwa face off in the highly-watched race. The only two gubernatorial elections being held are in New Jersey and Virginia.

President Trump has weighed in on the contests in New Jersey and Virginia, and in a California redistricting measure. Bomb threats briefly closed some polling places in New Jersey, but officials said the threats weren’t credible.
